It has been awhile.
I was going to update with new pictures of the house, but apparently I didn't take any. I would go and take some right now, but it is snowing. And frankly, this girl is not ready for snow.
We are moving along. The wood floors are going in on Tuesday. I had to take my first day of from school to let the installers in. I am bummed because we are starting Holidays Around the World and we were supposed to be flying to Israel. So now I need to bump our flight to tomorrow and it looks like we might not have school tomorrow. I can't let a sub fly my children to the country. I used to live for snow days when I taught before, now I am dreading a snow day.
My class is having a lot of fun with it so far. We all made pilot hats. Each child will have a turn to be the pilot or co-pilot. They all have passports that we made on Friday. And of course, they all packed their suitcases. That was the best!!! We talked about what you should pack and then I let them cut pictures out of magazines to glue inside. It was quite funny!
So, I will be back with pictures of the house, once I venture out of it. But it probably won't be today. Or maybe it will be. A picture of my new house with new fallen snow...sounds quite nice!

I know you always want what you don't have...because snow sounds SO very nice to me right now. We were watching The Santa Claus movie last night, and Lucy said worriedly "When will it snow so that Christmas can come?" I was trying to explain to her that in Texas, it doesn't have to snow so that Santa can come! :)
Your around the world project sounds AWESOME!! You are such a creative teacher. I would love to have my kids in your class to do something cool like that.
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time back in the classroom!! I too would LOVE for BJ to be in your class. I wish all teachers cared about making learning fun.
I can't wait to see new pictures of the house. I bet it looks awesome!! And pictures with snow would be nice to see! We're finally getting cold (again) down here, but it doesn't look like we'll see any snow anytime soon :) (though we are supposed to freeze tonight!).
It's great to hear from you!!! Miss you!
Your house renovations look like fun (from afar, at least). It will give you so much more space. I know you live just a short distance from NYC, but the space you have makes it seem like a whole different world.
I love the Holidays Around the World project. How fun for you and the kids.
perhaps an update is in order...please???
Funny thing is yesterday I was going to post the same thing.
