A Little Off Topic

Ok, I will post soon about Timmy's big day, but I had to post this...
You Are Miami

Sexy and beautiful, you turn heads wherever you go.
A little spicy and a little exotic, you're fully aware of your unique appeal.
Totally high energy, you keep the party going early into the morning.

Famous Miami residents: Anna Kournikova, OJ Simpson, Enrique Iglesias

I am sure many of you are laughing at the city that was chosen for me. Up all night...that was in my younger years! I swear!! It wasn't unusual for me to get in at 4 or 5 in the morning.

Day 5 - Epcot

Now how coud this be another surprise for Emma? Really Epcot isn't for kids, right? Well if you are headed to Norway for a special meeting then it is just what is needed.

Breakfast with the Princesses!!!! Oh yeah, who are the best parents ever? Me and David!!! Really we were only the best parents for a short amount of time. But you all know how that goes.

She was so excited. We sat down in a back corner and I thought "Crap, we have a bad table and I paid a rediculous amount of money for this!" Just so happens, we were sitting next to the door where all of the princesses came out of!! Are you kidding me??!!! Life was good!!

First Belle came out, but just waved and didn't stop. What the heck is up with that? Well apparently, she was the princess that got to pose in a special spot all morning. So we got in line (short one thank goodness) and waited for our special time. Emma was so excited I just wanted to cried. To see that kind of joy on her face, just made me so happy. Timmy was excited also, but still a little tired from our world wind week.

This picture looks like the kids are trying to get away, but it was Belle's dress that was causing the trouble. It was so nice, because she talked to Emma and really took an interest.

So back to our seats we go to enjoy our breakfast. It was good, but hard to enjoy. Timmy was very fidgity so I asked David if he would take him outside to run around. Just as he did it, another princess appeared. This time, she stopped at the tables as she walked to sign autograph books and take pictures. So we only had two children that sat closer to the door that went first and then it was our turn. I can't put into words how Emma's face lit up. I mean it was better that Christmas. It was actually like the first time she met her brother. The innocence and wonder in her was amazing.

So here is the first picture...
Emma meeting Princess Aurora

Princess Aurora

Here she is waiting for her next Princess Jasmine. She had hoped Jasmine would be there. I am so glad she was.

And here they are together...

And last Mary Poppins...(Is she a princess? I don't think so. We were robbed!!!)

Emma loved every second of it!!! After that we went to get Timmy and Grandpa. Grandpa and Daddy switched placed after a little while. They we were out of Epcot! We were headed back to Magic Kingdom for a couple more surprises. So up to the monorail we go and wait. As we get out, Timmy has a major meltdown. And I mean MAJOR! So David jumped off the monorail with Timmy to bring him back to the room and we continued on. Instead of switching at the transfer station to another monorail, we took the ferry the rest of the way. Emma loved it! Here is a picture of her and Grandpa on the ferry looking at the castle.

So we get to Magic Kingdom and head back to ToonTown. We get there and get in line for MORE PRINCESSES!!! Did you realize that Cinderella was missing? She is Emma's favorite!! So as we are on line, someone informed us that it was an hour wait. Oh well, if that is what we have to do. Thank goodness it only ended up being 40 minutes. So we walk into the room and the excited was in the air or rather on Emma's face once again. Her princesses were in front of her and she couldn't control herself. She hand her hands squeezed so tight that her fingers her turning white from lack of blood.

The first princess was Aurora. Yes we did just see her, but hey you can pass up a princess!

Then her favorite Cinderella. She just stared at her for awhile, but then started talking to her.

Last was Snow White. This one had an unexpected twist. Snow White spent quite a bit of time with Emma. She talked to her, asked her questions all the while Emma just smiled. In her autograph book it says, "To Emma Love Snow White" She actually took the time to write her name. It was awesome. Then the best part and this earned her top princess!!! She gave Emma a KISS!!! Well, that was it. I was teary eyed seeing the look on her face. It meant the world to her.

Notice her hands in this one.

The Kiss!!

Here she is with her Princesses Hat on. Grammie and Grandpa bought it for her earlier that day. Then after seeing the princesses, they bought her a Snow White pin to go on it.

Then we went back to Main Street to wait for the afternoon parade. It was great!!! I wished that Timmy was there, but knew he wasn't up for it. I was just praying that he took a nap. If not, David would be one upset Dad!!

Emma, Grammie, Grandpa and I said goodbye to Magic Kingdom and headed back to the resort. She couldn't wait to tell her Dad about the princesses, especially Snow White!! When we got back, I asked if Timmy had taken a nap. David's reply, "What do you mean by that?" Not the answer I was looking for. Then he comes out with, he fell asleep on the bus back to the resort and sleep until 15 minutes before we got back. That would be a 4 1/2 hour nap!!! I guess the boy really needed his sleep!!! That night we hung out at the resort again and started packing up.

One more day at Disney and this one is for Timmy!!! Stay tuned!!!

Sorry about all the spelling and grammatical errors! But hey, at least I posted!

Day 4 - Sea World

Two side notes first...
My mother-in-law is stil in the hospital. We are waiting for another update. Prayers are still needed. When she does get released, she will be on a feeding bag, IV, and need constant care at this point. I will update with more when we know anything.
Second, today is Jakes birthday! He is 8 today. Unfortunately, he is not doing well at all. We are bringing him to a new vet today for acupunture. Please say a prayer that this helps him and he has a huge turn around. Our fear is that it will not help, but we need to exhaust everything we possibly can.

Now Sea World...I thought the children would love to see all the animals and a break from the characters. Little did I know that we would run into a character.

Yes, Shamu was there signing and getting photos. Good thing I left the books and pens in the bag.

Here Timmy is ready for the day.

We went to a Sea Lion and Otter show. That was cute. The kids enjoyed that. Then we tried to go to the Penguin exhibit, but the fire alarm went off and everyone was evaucated. So on to the Dolphin Show. No luck there either. It was full. (Note: Don't go during Spring Break!!) So back to the penguins. The kids loved them. So did I. I think they are so awesome and fast! Next stop the sea lions. Oh my gosh, I wanted to take one home. I made David buy food so I could feed them. Then I told hime to get a picture of me feeding them. This is what he took.

Do you see me holding the little fish? Yea, me neither! He totally missed me.

This guy, I believe was blind. You know he is the one I wanted to take home.

So then it was on to the Arctic. On our way we passed some whales for the kids to sit on.

As you can see from the look on my face, Timmy was getting into some trouble.

Now this next picture, you might think I took because David and Timmy were together and it was cute, but no that is not why. I took it, because that is pretty much most of what I saw with my hubby. He walked so far ahead most of the time. My parents, walked much slower and then I was in the middle with the stroller. This happened everyday at every park. Even on our way to catch the bus.

The Arctic was neat. The kids like it. There was a polar bear right next to the window. Timmy loved it, Emma was a little unsure about being so close. Then the beluga whale swam right to the window to see the kids. It was really cute.

After that, we decided to head back to the resort for lunch and a nap. After naptime, we thought it would be best to hang around there for some down time. We walked to the resort next door to check out their gift shop. And then bedtime for our last BIG surprise for Emma!! Stay tuned to see what we had in store for her!

Day 3- Tuesday!!

So now we move on to Animal Kingdom. First stop was to pick up the stroller. Did I tell you in the last post, that if you have children, rent these things! They are so worth it!!!

Next we were on to the "Big Tree". The children were not impressed. Why would they be, it's a tree. Well the adults were so I was glad we stopped to see it. Then we just started walking. Wouldn't you know we run into Stitch!! How great was that?! He was so funny. Timmy really enjoyed him and Stitch enjoyed Timmy. He even wrote his "To Tim" in his autograph book. Emma gave him a huge hug! After that, Emma started, "Where is Lilo? We need to find Lilo!" Very long story and search cut short...no Lilo. Oh well, there is always next time.

We kept walking and realized we were just in time for the Lion King Performance. This might not have been the best thing to bring Timmy to. There were monkeys (gymnists) that were flipping and flying through the air. He loved watching them. Emma wasn't very sure about the whole thing, but in the end liked it.

Then we saw Donald Duck!! It was great. The kids of course gave hugs and took pictures. Donald was kneeling down and I told Timmy to say bye. Well he decided to hit Donald's bill! Yes, my kid hit Donald Duck!! I was shocked and Donald grabbed his beak. Timmy instantly knew what he had to do...he said "Sori, Sori Doul Duck" which is Sorry Sorry Donald Duck and then he gave him five. David and I just shook our heads.

We were then on the move to the Safari. On the way, my parents stopped to get us water and Emma, Timmy and I found an African drummer. Emma and Timmy each took a turn hitting his drum.

I wish Donald had, had a drum. I got to the Safari and it was over an hour wait to on to get Fast Passes for all of us. We had 2 hours before we could use our fast pass, so we turned around and head to see some gorillas. They put on a little show for us. It was very cute. One took his feeding bucket and put it on his head and walked around.
Another, ran down and grabbed a stick and posed for the cameras. Then we decided to head back to camp Mickey.

Camp Mickey was a big hit with Mickey, Minnie and Brother Bear. Mickey was cute, but Minnie stole Timmy's heart. While she was signing Emma's book, Timmy held her arm. She was really taken with her. He is totally into the women!!

It was on to find some food which didn't go well. So we (or should I say I) decided to scrap the Safari and head back to the resort for some lunch and then a nap. It worked out much better. Remember this vacation was for the children not for the adults.

After naptime, we were on to Downtown Disney!! The shops were so cute. The kids posed with some statues that were outside and with the Lego basset hound in honor of our Maggie!! Timmy kissed the Cinderella statue. Such a ladies man! Grammie and Grandpa bought Emma a small Mickey and Minnie mouse stuffed animals. Timmy picked Chip 'n Dale. That night and the rest of the nights in Florida all of the stuffed animals slept with the kids. I got a few pins. If you haven't been to Disney in awhile, trading pins is hot! I got a lanyard and then 3 pins to symbolize my vacation. Dumbo in honor of Timmy. He loves that movie so much. Lady and the Tramp for Emma. Another big hit in our house. And of course, Cinderella's castle with the date on it. That pin will stay with me, and the kids will get their pins on something in there room. I am thinking about making them a shadow box of our trip for their rooms. We then road on the carousel there, jumped on the bus and were back at the resort.

I will try to update again tomorrow.

Prayers Needed ASAP.

Hi everyone, I am asking all of you to pray for my mother in law. She is on her way to the hospital right now in severe pain. After speaking with her doctor this morning, she found out that her tumors are stable right now, but she has several hernias. I will tell you, I could see them when we were there last week. Pray that the doctors can help her. Pray that she doesn't get an infection like last May that almost took her. Pray that Pop is strong enough to handle anything that comes his way. And pray that all of her children can handle whatever is to come. This has been a tough long 3 years of fighting cancer. She has beaten the odds time and time again. I am positive she will this time also, but the prayer could sure help. Thanks!

More autographs

Life is passing so quickly. Maybe it is because there is so much coming at me at once. Or maybe it is because my mind is on overload. I'm not sure which it is, but I really need a vacation. Yes, I was just on vacation, but I need a vacation from my responsibilities, but that is never going to happen. Once you are a parent that is it. You can never shut your mind off. You always worry, hope, dream, and pray that your children are safe, happy and healthy. So yes, it does take me a long time to get back and post, but it is not because I don't want to. It is because life is crazy.

So we are on to more autographs. Really everyone, that is what our whole trip was about. The children meeting the characters they have grown to love. We geared our trip around the children. Nothing for us, because we knew that it would bore the children and that is just trouble.

After Pluto, it was on to Toon Town! What a wonderful part of the park for children. The judges tent is totally the place to go. I recommend you get there when the gate opens. For us that was impossible because we had to stop at all of the characters on the way in as you saw.

If you are planning on going to Disney, I recommend you rent a stroller at the park. They are great and you don't have to worry about getting it on and off the bus if you are staying at a resort at the park. If you rent it for an extended period of time it is discounted a little. So worth the price!

The judge's tent was great. We got on line to see Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger. The other 2 lines were for Minnie, Mickey and Pluto and Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White. I really wanted Timmy to see Pooh, so I chose that. The line moved quick and soon we were in there.

The hugs for Pooh!!!

Only one hug for Eeyore from Emma! Timmy was not that excited about him. He just wanted his book signed.

And then there was Tigger. He bounced all over the place. Oh, I forgot to say that we were the last family with the characters, so we got some extra time with them. Here is one with Tigger. Emma, of course, gave him a hug, but I had to be in it so Timmy could get his picture taken.

As we were leaving the room, wouldn't you know the princesses came running out of a room into the hall. Of course, they couldn't talk with us or take pictures because it was a character change, so unfair. Emma's eyes lit up and she wanted to get in line. When I saw the line, I knew Timmy didn't have it in him. So I promised that we would see the princesses on another day. She agreed but wasn't happy.

We took a train ride around the park. Would you believe I forgot to take pictures!! I can't believe it. We got back and the kids played i Toontown for a little while and then it was on to Pooh's Hundred Acre Wood. That was really neat for them. Timmy was in Pooh's house...

After taking this picture, I saw Emma following my mother over to a bench. So I went with Timmy and played for a minute. They I went to get Emma and only saw my mom. I asked her where Emma was and she said she hadn't seen her. Sheer panic hit me. So the search was on. I asked my Dad and he hadn't seen her either. Then I went to David and he said he had been watching Timmy. Crap, where is my kid. We scrambled looking everywhere in that play area. All of a sudden I stumbled upon her waiting for her turn down a slide. It was in the back area and she was packed with other chldren waiting. It was so strange because she never goes off without us. We all explained that it is important tell us where she was going.

After that it was back to the room for naps! Much needed naps. Then back to Magic Kingdom! They rode on the Carousel, then we meet up with my Brother in law and his family and went through It's a Small World together. And then the kids wanted to take my children into Mickey's Philharmonic 3D adventure. It was cute. In the beginning Donald makes a mess with the instruments and Timmy yelled "Big Mess!!" It was funny. He loved it and having the glasses on. For Emma it wasn't as good. She hated the glasses and the whole experience. Her brain is too advance for the show and makes up things in her mind that could happen. After that, we walked out to fireworks!!! The kids were in awe! They have never seen fireworks before. Remember, my children go to bed very early, so this was a thrill for them. They didn't know what way to look!! It was great to experience it with them.

As you can tell, we had a big day. Next we are on to Animal Kingdom!

It's Autograph Time!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long again. Very busy weekend. I will try to add that post later.

So where did I leave off...Ah, after a call to the pediatrician, we headed to breakfast in the cafeteria at the resort. Can I just say, all of the food that I had there was awesome!! From the coffee cake, to the hot dogs (they were really good!), and the chocolate chip cookies...can I just say, I bought extra for my drive down to the in-laws!! They were so good!!!

Here the kids are on there walk to breakfast with Grammie!

The is was time to wait for as Timmy would say "school bus yah, yah, yah!!" Which translated means school bus round and round. They loved going on the bus! We were headed back to Magic Kingdom. And our mission, to meet the characters. What characters you ask? Any and all that we can find!!!

When we first walked in, we saw the mice from Cinderella, but what we saw next to them, took the cake...CHIP N DALE!!! All Timmy keep yelling was "CHIP DALE, CHIP DALE, MOMMA!!!!!" And that was our first stop and our first autographs in our book.

Next we were on to Pinocchio and Geppitto. We made David wait in the Goofy and Max line because it was so long. So I wasn't sure if Emma would like Geppitto because he looked like an old hairy man, but she surprised me once again.

Right before this picture was taken she had given Geppitto a huge hug! Timmy wanted no part of them after he got his book signed. He was on to Goofy and Max!

Next stop, one of our all time favorites...PLUTO!!! How could he not be with our love of dogs!!! There is a story I will share with all of you in a different entry about "the infamous Pluto hat!"

Ok, I have to leave you here. I need to get breakfast and head out. I will try to get back later if I can. I hope you enjoy!!

Sheer Panic and Surprise!

Sorry this has taken me so long. I last left you with poor Jake. He is doing better, but not great. I am worried about him. We considered canceling our trip, but knew he would be in good hands. Everything is day by day.

Now on to what everyone is waiting for...The BIG Trip!!!

We left here at 6:30 Saturday morning and headed toward Florida or should I say "The Happiest Place on Earth!" When we hit Jersey, we called my parents to see where they were. For those of you that don't know, I invited them to go with us to experience Disney with the kids. My mom jumped on it. Emma had no idea they were coming with us. We passed them a couple of times on the road, but the kids were so engrossed in the movies that they had no clue. We stopped in VA (I believe) for gas and lunch. That is when we planned on surprising Emma with Grammie and Grandpa. Well the surprise came a little quicker than we had thought. David had pumped the gas and then forgot to get the receipt. When he stopped the van and got out, Emma looked out the window and their were my parents getting gas. She stared for the longest time trying to process what she was seeing and then it started..."Mom, I see Grammie and Grandpa." "No you don't Emma, they are in NY!" "No Mom, they are right over there!!" So I let her call them on the cell phone and say hi. We moved to a parking lot to have lunch and my mom told her, she loved her so much that she was following us to FL. Well that just make Emma BEAM!

We stopped for the night in Lumberton, NC for the night after driving 10 1/2 hours. First stop was the hotel, then cracker barrel and then bed. After being asleep for about 2 hours Timmy woke up having trouble breathing. It was quite serious, to the point that David thought we were going to head home in the morning. I gave him his inhaler, special cough medicine and sat in a steamy bathroom for about 15 minutes. Then he slept with me the rest of the night. It was a very difficult night for the 3 of us. Emma sleeps like a rock and had no clue what was happening.

The next morning we got a late start because Timmy needed a little extra rest.

We woke him and were on the road by 7. Next stop, Disney. On our way into Orlando, I called our pediatrician and she told me to increase the inhaler and that we might need to go to the emergency room for steriod shots. As you can tell, this vacation isn't what we thought so far.

So now, Emma is sleeping and we are heading into Disney World. That is right, she missed the sign. I was thrilled!!! So far my plan was working out for the big surprise. We got to the hotel and woke her. Now, we did tell her that we were sleeping in one more hotel before we got to Mimi and Pop's. That this hotel was a special Mickey hotel and we might see some Mickey things, but that was it. So we checked in and then got on the bus to Magic Kingdom. We told her that we were taking a bus to dinner so that didn't spark her interest at all.

Once we got to Magic Kingdom, my plan was to walk down main street and have her spot the castle. It was perfect!!!! She spotted it and her eyes lit up!!! Her mouth dropped open!!! And then "Mom, is that Cinderella's Castle??!!" "Yes, it is Emma!" And I asked her if she knew where we were and she said "Where?" "We are in Disney World!!" "Disney World??? I always wanted to go to Disney World!!" So did I say it was PERFECT!!!

Then when we got to the castle, people were waiting for something, so we waited also. All of a sudden a show started about the crowning of Cinderella. All the princesses came out with their princes and started dancing. Then Cinderella came out!! The look was priceless!!! I don't believe I really captured it.

Then we grabbed a bite to eat and started to head out, when the parade started. So did I say it was PERFECT!!! The kids got to see the parade and loved it. Emma was mesmorized by it. Timmy just kept calling the characters. Then Emma started waving. I was with her so I didn't get a picture, but the wave was a princess wave. Then it was back to the hotel.

That night Timmy woke up at about 11 and I took him in bed with me again due to his cough. At 1:30 he rolled on me and I felt like I was burning. I took his temp. and he had a 103.3 fever. So after motrin it finally broke about 2 hours later. I called the ped in the morning and he was on Zithromaz the rest of the trip.

That is it for now! I will post more tomorrow or Sat. The best is yet to come!!!
